Funerals
The death of a friend or loved one is difficult to cope with. Grief is like an illness that is suddenly thrust upon us.
Nothing and no one prepares us in life for this inevitable reality.
The
first thing to do is ring a local Funeral Director; they will call on
you and help you to make the funeral arrangements. Then the vicar needs
to be contacted - usually the funeral director does this - but you can
ring him yourself if you prefer. Rev'd Richard Major's details can be found on our contact screen.
The vicar is always willing to visit (whether you are a church member or not) and talk with you, and try to help you find answers to some of the questions that you may be asking
The vicar can suggest booklets which many have found helpful; some of which are even designed with children in mind.
The churchyard which surrounds the church is no longer used for burials, but a secure council maintained cemetery is only a matter of yards from the church. Many people choose to have a service at the crematorium. If you wish your local vicar can conduct the service there.
